Description
Step into the very origins of Indian civilisation with these extraordinarily rare silver punch-marked karshapanas — among the earliest standardised coins ever produced, originating independently in the Indian subcontinent around the 6th to 5th century BCE. Known as Aahat coins, these were produced by the numerous Janapadas and Mahajanapadas of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, and are mentioned in the Manusmriti, Buddhist Jataka stories, and Chanakya’s Arthashastra. Each coin bears unique punch symbols — suns, animals, geometric motifs and royal emblems — making every piece a one-of-a-kind artefact. A bundle of 10 coins, each over 2,000 years old, offered at ₹999 per coin. Disclaimer — Any coin will be sent from the available lot; designs and shapes may vary.
