Mughal Empire Farrukhsiyar Silver Rupee — Surat Mint Large Flan (Big Size) Coin

Description

A rare and historically significant silver rupee from the brief but eventful reign of Emperor Farrukhsiyar (1713–1719 AD / AH 1124–1131), struck at the prestigious Surat Mint. The obverse bears the celebrated “Bahr-o-bar” couplet — Sikka zad az fazl-e-haq bar sim o zar, Badshahe bahre-o-bar, Farrukhsiyar — meaning “By the grace of God, coins were struck in silver and gold, the Emperor of land and sea, Farrukhsiyar”, while the reverse carries the Surat mint name with the regnal year.
